Lucario is a great late game sweeper in the OU. It has great speed and attack for last minute games and can sweep by quickly. Other roles do well for Lucario but I see this one as the most common, but everyone has their own opinion. Anyway here are some movesets I recommend for Lucario.
Lucario - Adamant or Jolly
Item: Life Orb
Evs: 252 Attack / 4 Defense / 252 Speed
Moveset:
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Extremespeed
- Crunch
Ok I would recommend the ability, Inner Focus here. If the Lucario's nature is Adamant or Jolly, Swords Dance is very helpful. The stat boosts help and then with the Evs and with Swords Dance it can pack some punch. Close Combat is helpful because once you Swords Dance, you can use Close Combat, and even Pokemon that are super effective against Lucario probably couldn't survive it. Extremespeed is helpful also once Swords Dancing. You can use Extremespeed if you are afraid that the other Pokemon is faster and to go for an easy sweep. It is also helpful for once the opponent Baton Passes because it is probably gonna be faster and stronger and since Extremespeed goes first you will probably defeat the Pokemon. Now some people like to go with Stone Edge on Lucario but I say Crunch is better. It can take care of Ghost and Psychic Types and is a great move. Now I know their is Ice Punch too but I don't think it is needed or better than Crunch.
Now I would like to show you how I would use a Reverse Lucario. It can also have great damage if you have the right moveset and predict each move your opponent will use or what they will do.
Lucario - Adamant
Item: Salac Berry
Evs: 252 Attack / 4 Defense / 252 Speed
Moveset:
- Endure
- Reversal
- Swords Dance
- Crunch
Inner Focus as an ability is needed here too. For an item you need Salac Berry. It raises speed when hit by an attack and that is what we need. Endure is too put big damage for Reversal. The lower the HP, the greater the damage and with Swords Dance it will have even more damage. Again you should have Crunch too take out Ghost and Psychic Types and I think it the best to use on a Reverse Lucario.
